This is quite fast, the reason I have done this is because a major influence to my game is another game called ‘Micromachines’ which is a game on the Megadrive. For my character to do this I have assigned the ‘Spacebar’ to operate this feature and set it for a acceleration speed of 140. Line One (Accelerate) – This is the behaviour telling my character to accelerate/move. I then inserted the top down images of the bus onto the actor, I have to now apply rules to my character to get it to operate. How I did this was by again making an actor and labelling it this time as ‘Manchester Bus’ (it’s always important to label your files correctly this keeps your game looking more organised and easier to work with.). The next thing I did was make a playable character, my first being the ‘Manchester Bus’. I added the bridge into the GameSalad using the same method as the background, but I had to make sure I saved and imported the image as a ‘PNG’ so that it would have a transparent background. What I had to do was insert both the background and the bridge separately to get the bus to drive underneath it during gameplay. So when it came to testing out my game the bus would drive straight over the bridge. At first I put the whole image into GameSalad thinking it’ll keep my layers how it does on Photoshop, which it doesn’t it compresses the layers into one whole image. Then I assigned the image to the background, this was very simple.Īnother part I had to do for the ‘Background’ is on the original image there is a replica of the ‘Tyne Bridge’. I did this by firstly making an ‘Actor’ and labelling it as ‘background’, then in the ‘media’ tab I added my background image into my media library. How I started off my game was by putting one of the levels I drew in GameSalad. Thus forcing you to plan strategic routes, thinking how you can beat your friends times. However these coins spawn at random intervals making it harder for you to catch and find them, there is a set order they run in but it’s up to the player to find out. You play as the Birmingham bus or the Manchester bus both being equal in performance and your race against the clock to gain as much coins as possible before the time runs out.
